The recent appointment of Dr Sari Cooper as co-chair of the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC) has created an opportunity for a family physician interested in playing a role in the future of primary care. We encourage anyone who is interested to consider submitting an application to join the committee as the newest Doctors of BC member.
All Doctors of BC members in good standing who meet the qualifications are welcome to apply. Please note that, given the current caucus composition, preference may be given to applicants from rural settings in the Interior and/or Northern Health region.
The GSPC is the leading collaborative table for primary health care transformation in BC, and under the Physician Master Agreement, is a vehicle for representatives of the government, Doctors of BC, health authorities, and BC Family Doctors to work together on matters affecting the provision of primary care services by family physicians (FPs) in British Columbia.
