The GPSC provides incentive compensation to family physicians to support aspects of longitudinal family practice including panel management, preventative care, chronic disease management, complex care planning, patient telephone management, and conferencing with other providers. In addition, the GPSC supports family physicians to provide care in priority areas such as in-hospital, long-term care facilities, maternity, mental health, and palliative care.

GPSC fees are are available to BC’s eligible family physician to help improve the delivery of patient care by supporting and providing guideline-informed care in areas such as chronic disease management, maternity care, mental health, and care for the frail and elderly.
The incentive recognizes the additional time and effort that family doctors and their practice teams take to improve the accuracy of panel data and to proactively manage the chronic and preventative care needs of their patient panel.
